After such a difficult year, STA is proud to have been named by ukactive as 2021 Awards Finalists across four categories; for Activation of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Outstanding Leadership, and for Delivering Business Continuity & Success during COVID-19.

ukactive’s annual awards are the most prestigious within the physical activity sector; they recognise facilities, suppliers, operators, educational institutes, health practitioners and large corporations that have demonstrated exceptional standards in driving forward the physical activity agenda.

Zoe Cooper, STA’s Commercial Director says: “At the last ceremony in 2019, STA was the proud recipient of active’s coveted Supplier of the Year Award – it was a super night and for all of us at STA it was a career highlight. But as we celebrated that night, we could never have predicted what was facing us just a few short months later, and the devasting effects COVID-19 would have on the leisure industry.”

“It would be an understatement to say it has been a terribly difficult time for everyone, which is why we are so pleased ukactive has decided to bring back the awards this year – they will provide a great opportunity for the industry to come together, albeit virtually, to celebrate all the positive achievements and recognise leisure’s unsung heroes.”

Dave Candler, STA’s CEO, adds: “For STA, it’s been a difficult and transforming period too. The team on limited resources have worked incredibly hard, sometimes 24/7, to support our members and the wider aquatics industry; therefore, for STA and them to be recognised as finalists alone by ukactive across four categories is an incredible honour – this year, more than any other. As a team we are very proud.”

As award finalists in the Activation of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, and for Delivering Business Continuity & Success during COVID-19 categories, STA will now go forward to judges houses and then eagerly wait for ukactive to announce all the winners at a virtual ceremony being held on 12th August.
