STA was delighted to join the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Swimming earlier this month, which brought together MPs and Peers from across the UK to discuss the range of issues facing swimming.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group was created by Catherine West MP and co-chaired by Nicky Morgan MP with the aim of raising issues on the need for all children to learn how to swim at primary school, greater access to facilities and raising awareness of safe outdoor swimming.

Dave Candler, STA CEO, who was invited to attend the meeting in Westminster said:

As a charity dedicated to teaching swimming and lifesaving skills, we fully support the All-Party Parliamentary Group in helping to raise awareness on the importance of learning to swim at a political level.

Thanks to Catherine setting up the All-Party Parliamentary Group, we can together start addressing the issues surrounding swimming.
