Missions

The first step in the Junior lifeguard Academy is the Seal Series, which is perfect for young swimmers who want to learn new fun skills.

Learners can also take part in the Academy’s 40 special missions whilst completing the Seal awards or as separate standalone activities. These exciting awards include everything from lifeguard and sport skills to boogie board, snorkelling, ocean awareness, open water swimming and distance skills, as well as tasters in water polo and syncronised swimming.

STA Distance

Stamina Development

A range of 4 awards that reward distance and stamina over distances from 200 metres to 1,000 metres.

A series of awards that builds personal confidence as well as develop first aid and resuscitation skills.

STA Skills Development

Skill Development with Lifesaving Skills

Develops a competent swimmer and water confidence. Special missions include synchronised swimming, water polo and diving.

Lifeguard Skills

Personal Confidence and Lifeguard Skill Development

A series of awards that uses lifeguard equipment like rescue tubes, fins and boogie boards and skills like lifeguard communication.

Lifesaving Physical Challenges

Skill Development Through Physical Challenges

Develops a competent swimmer and physically challenge the individual. Special missions include snorkelling, open water awarenes, and Seascooter.

Sport Strand Speed

Sports Development with Lifesaving Skills

The Sport Strand Speed awards are a great introduction to lifesaving as a sport in a fun safe environment, using basic lifesaving skills.
