At the beginning of May, STA President Dave Candler and Inspire Leisure Littlehampton successfully ran the UK’s first accredited Open Water Swimming Coaching courses – the STA Level 1 Award for Pool to Open Water Swimming Coaching and the STA Level 2 Award for Open Water Swimming Coaching course, which have been developed in partnership with NOWCA.

Dave said: “It was a really enjoyable and exciting weekend, and even with the disruption of the tides, the group went into the sea first thing in the morning. The candidates (pictured here) gained some fantastic experience and learned new techniques that they can now pass on to their open water swimmers.”
