STA Launches New SAT Qualification
The new Level 2 Safety Award for Teachers (SAT) qualification is now available to register. It is a 6 hour course which includes pool safety and legislation, resuscitation skills and basic first aid skills.
The new SAT qualification will replace the Level 1 Pool Emergency Procedures (PEP) qualification as the pre-requisite lifesaving qualification for Swimming Teaching courses.
For the new SAT qualification, there is no need to complete a Provisional Results Declaration Form for each learner as the Tutor Assessed Skills Sheet contained within each learners’ portfolio will act as confirmation that the learner has passed the course.
The recommended number of learners on a SAT course is twelve, although up to four more learners may undertake the course provided that additional pool and theory time is allocated. All course paperwork and Tutor resources are now available to download from STA Online, and the new SAT qualification can be registered from today.
