STA Call Dibs on Swimming with New Scouts Partnership
STA has announced an exciting new three-year partnership with The Scout Association today, in support of their Swimmer Staged Activity Badge series. Alongside this, STA also confirmed free online CPD training is being launched to enable swimming teachers, for the first time, to become ‘Swim Scout Assessors’.
STA is proud to partner with The Scout Association and support the five badges in the Swimmer Staged Activity Badge series.
Dave Candler, STA’s CEO said as an educational charity dedicated to the teaching of swimming, lifesaving and survival techniques, STA is proud to partner with The Scout Association and support the five badges in the Swimmer Staged Activity Badge series.
He said: This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity for STA, as part of its charitable objectives, to reach and engage with the Association’s young members, and teach them about the importance of learning to swim and how to be safe in and around water. We are very excited about the opportunities this will present over the next three years.
As further support, STA has also launched a free online CPD training programme for swimming teachers to become certified ‘Swim Scout Assessors’. Dave explained: By helping swimming teachers understand more about the Swimmer Staged Activity Badge series and the skills criterion specifically, it opens up the opportunity for more and more Scouts to earn their swim badges.
For The Scout Association’s members, STA will also be creating a host of free water safety education resources and fun swimming-related ideas over the term of the partnership, as well as supporting key Scouting events.
Anna Weston, Corporate Partnerships Account Manager at The Scout Association said: This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity for our membership, with STA aiming to make it even easier for young members to learn the essential skill of being able to swim and behave safely around water.
We very much value STA’s support and enthusiasm in engaging with our membership; learning to swim and how to be safe in and around water are key life skills for our youth members, skills that could one day save their life.
