Pooling Together to Share International Resources

STA has teamed up with IFSTA partners in the USA and Australia, and together we will be sharing our free webinar / CPD content to our respective members. For STA members, this means you can now access an even larger library of international learning content during this COVID-19 pandemic – for free.

The Starfish Aquatics Institute

Our partners in the USA, the Starfish Aquatics Institute, have given us access to several of the webinars they have created to help swim schools during this pandemic; of note there are a couple of subjects around ‘social distancing and disinfection during swimming lessons’ and ‘getting back on track at a moment’s notice’ to prepare US swim schools for re-opening.

Please note, that UK and USA operations may differ in approach during COVID-19 and post-lockdown, but nonetheless the webinar discussions offer interesting insight while we wait for official UK government advice, as per the latest notice here.

The Australian Swimming Teachers and Coaching Association (ASCTA)

Like STA, ASCTA (our partners in Australia), have created a series of webinars for their swimming teacher and coaching members throughout this pandemic, which our UK members and USA members can now access too. Subjects include leadership in crisis times, understanding anxiety, and coaching webinars from Wayne Goldsmith and Bill Sweeney, plus many more are scheduled for the coming weeks.

Please note, that some of the teaching practices shown in these webinars may slightly differ to those we adhere to here in the UK.

Zoe Cooper, STA’s Sales and Marketing Director said: “Working internationally with our IFSTA partners in the USA and Australia to pool our learning resources exemplifies the spirit of our international aquatics community – coming together as one during these unprecedented times to share resources for the benefit of our respective members and fellow aquatic professionals.

Dave Candler, STA & IFSTA CEO adds: “It is fantastic to bring our global partners together and unite the aquatics community together at this difficult and uncertain time – together we can all enhance our learning by sharing our international practices and experiences. Thank you ASCTA and the Starfish Aquatics Institute for your continued support.”

To access all these free resources, please go to the Webinar Recordings and Resources area within the Resources section within your STA Online account. Please note that some of these webinars require passwords to access. These will be displayed to you where necessary.
