Safeguarding Policy Guidance Documents
To support swim schools with their safeguarding requirements STA has released a policy guidance document and a range of policy templates.
The following documents can be found within STA Online > Guidance documents > Safeguarding
- Safeguarding policy guidance for STA members
- Policy Template 1 – Safeguarding Policy for Designated Safeguarding Officers v23.1
- Policy Template 2 – Safeguarding Policy for Employees v23.1
- Policy Template 3 – Safeguarding Policy for Customers v23.1
- Template Incident Report Form.
STA has provided a template Incident Report Form, which should be adapted to suit the needs / procedures of the company. This Incident Report Form is to report concerns / disclosures to the company Designated Safeguarding Officer. It is not for members of the public to report incidents to the company or the STA. There should be no reference to this report form in your customer safeguarding policy and there should be no link to the form on your website.
It is a swim school’s responsibility to have a Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) in place and ensure they have the correct safeguarding policies and procedures for their company needs.
STA’s Designated Safeguarding Officers are available to assist with concerns from company Designated Safeguarding Officers. However, all safeguarding incidents / disclosures must be reported to the company Designated Safeguarding Officer and reporting to authorities must be made by the company Designated Safeguarding Officer. childprotection@sta.co.uk
