Job Description: Trustee (Chartered Accountant) – STA (Swimming Teachers’ Association) West Midlands, UK

STA is a UK registered educational charity who for the last 90 years has worked to create and deliver the highest standards of swimming-teaching in line with our charitable objective; ‘The preservation of human life through the teaching of swimming and lifesaving’.

This objective is also shared and supported by our National Tutor network, 18,000+ swimming-teaching members, and our vast mix of swim-school and leisure customers, both in the UK and internationally. This organisational profile also extends to working closely, and strategically, with like-minded partners in the UK and internationally, including CIMSPA and ukactive.

Underpinning all of this is STA’s commitment to delivering quality aquatic services; STA uses its expertise to ensure the best learn to swim principles are delivered at a grassroots level for learners of all ages and abilities. Further, as a dynamic not-for-profit organisation with a clear charity aim and social responsibility, our goal is to deliver these services so that they positively benefit and meet the needs of the leisure market.

With membership increasing exponentially every year, this is an exciting chapter in STA’s history, and moving forward we are looking for a committed individual with proven expertise in finance and chartered accountancy to join our Board of Trustees and share in our success. A professional individual that can use their real-life expertise to help further STA’s charitable aims and objectives, and who can actively contribute to the Board and give strategic direction.

As a Trustee, you will also share our ambitions, act as an ambassador and ensure that we achieve our objectives. You will also safeguard our reputation and ensure that the interests of the STA are delivered in accordance with regulatory frameworks.
