The 2024 STAr awards, are being sponsored by Konfidence for a second consecutive year, and will celebrate and showcase the achievements of all those involved in delivering learn to swim programmes and aquatics training over the last 12 months, in line with STA’s charity objectives.

This year there are 10 awards to be won and those wishing to nominate / enter should do so by Wednesday 31st July to be in with the chance of winning a coveted STAr award.

The first four are individual awards for Swimming Teacher, Tutor, Member and Water Safety Educator of the Year, and are now open for nominations.

The next six awards are open to all qualifying learn to swim providers who work in the given STAr criteria, and they are encouraged to enter directly with a written or video submission.

• STAr STA Swim Academy of the Year
• STAr Swim School Provider of the Year (under 500 participants per week)
• STAr Swim School Provider of the Year (over 500 participants per week)
• STAr Not-for-Profit Community Campaign of the Year)
• STAr Approved Training Centre of the Year – (less than 50 courses delivered over the last 12 months)
• STAr Approved Training Centre of the Year – (more than 50 courses delivered over the last 12 months)

A list of shortlisted finalists will be announced in September, and the 2024 winners will be revealed at an informal ceremony taking place at this year’s national conference on Friday 11th October at the Radison Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport.

We are looking for examples of leadership, creativity, innovation, diversity and excellence, in line with our charity objectives.”

Ali Beckman, STA’s President, who will be co-hosting the awards with Dave, added: “The Aquatic Excellence Awards celebrate the incredible work being achieved in grassroots swimming, and they provide recognition to the finalists and winners that they have been judged and deemed to demonstrate excellence in their STAr award category by STA, a national governing body for swimming. The STArs also provide the finalists and winners with a great opportunity to promote their award-winning achievements.”
