STA Award and Certificate in Teaching Swimming Reaccredited and Now at SCQF Level 7
STA is pleased to announce the STA Award and Certificate in Teaching Swimming have been reaccredited for 5 years and relevelled at SCQF Level 7 with SQA Accreditation.
The relevelling highlights the importance and expertise required of a swimming teacher and recognises their professional status within the sector. It also reflects the high-quality training STA swimming teaching qualifications provide, ensuring teachers possess technical knowledge essential for effectively planning, teaching, and assessing a range of swimming skills, strokes and water safety skills for participants of all ages and abilities.
The reaccredited qualifications are now live with new titles:
- STA Award in Teaching Swimming at SCQF Level 7
- STA Certificate in Teaching Swimming at SCQF Level 7
All SQA registered courses from today, 5th November 2024, will be transferred across to the reaccredited level 7 qualifications.
The qualification specifications have been updated to reflect this change and are available on STA Online. There have been no other changes to the qualification, resources and the assessment remains unaffected.
