CLSP Gains Life-Saving Boost From STA

STA is delighted to announce that Community Leisure Services Partnership (CLSP) has been selected as the third recipient of a life-saving defibrillator through its 2025 Community HEART STArters campaign. STA’s nationwide initiative supports charitable leisure organisations by providing defibrillators to strengthen emergency response capabilities and improve cardiac survival rates in local communities.
CLSP, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to safeguarding essential health and fitness services across the UK, plays a vital role in keeping local leisure centres running during challenging financial times. CLSP’s leisure sites in Aylesbury and Dundee, specifically named in the application, are especially valued by their communities for their extensive swimming lesson programmes and high levels of public use.
A spokesperson for CLSP said “Receiving this defibrillator will make a huge difference at either of our nominated sites – we just now need to decide which one.”
They added further “The amount of community usage we see every day at each facility, means that having a defib on-site will not only enhance emergency preparedness, but will also improve the public’s sense of safety and reassurance. With both Aylesbury and Dundee sites located in the heart of their communities, it’s comforting to know this defibrillator could also be accessed by local residents in those areas – not just facility users – in an emergency.”
This life-saving donation will further enable CLSP to uphold its mission of fostering safe, inclusive, and accessible environments, especially in areas where leisure services form a vital part of community wellbeing.
Dave Candler, CEO of STA, said:
“We are thrilled to support CLSP as the third recipient in our Community HEART STArters campaign. Their leisure sites in Aylesbury and Dundee are true community hubs, and we’re confident this defibrillator – whichever site it ends up at – will have a meaningful impact. Survival rates from cardiac arrest can increase dramatically when an AED is used within the first few minutes, and this donation means another community will be better equipped to respond quickly when every second counts.”
